Happy New Year from Lynne Riley - January 2, 2013

Happy New Year From Representative Lynne Riley

Dear Friends,

Happy New Year! 2013 looks to be another year of great opportunities in Georgia. The General Assembly will convene on Monday, January 14th for a maximum of 40 legislative days. Our primary responsibility is to adopt a balanced budget for the State of Georgia. This is no small task when you consider the vast array of services provided by state agencies, each one extremely important to the respective recipient. A copy of the fiscal year 2013 (July 2012 - June 2013) Georgia State Budget may be reviewed at the Governor's Office of Planning and Budget
http://opb.georgia.gov/.

In 2013, I will continue my effort to re-create Milton County, while at the same time working with my fellow Fulton County legislators on reforms to Fulton County government. During the past year, I worked closely with MARTOC Chairman Mike Jacobs on revisions and enhancements to the MARTA Act that will be presented to the General Assembly in 2013 for consideration.

As always, I welcome your insights and suggestions for policy initiatives that will improve your quality of life in Georgia. Please contact me at Lynne@LynneRiley.com any time.

I invite you to visit the Capitol during our session, and experience the legislative process for yourself. Please contact my legislative office at 404-656-0188 for additional information on visits and tours of the Capitol.

Yours in service,

Rep. Lynne Riley
House District 50 (Johns Creek - North Fulton)
